Do not watch this film. Like, honestly. Do not follow it’s acclaimed direction, or it’s beloved cast, ignore the “must see” pleas and the calls for more films like this one. Just don’t. These are the kind of films that ask you to fall in love with the characters and the hearty- child like gentleness of adolescence and then BAM. Take it all away from you. Whoever read the book and decided to make it a film must have wanted demise because wowzers this was mental. If I'm going to be honest there isnt too much I can say about this film except that it is sad, very very sad. And when you watch it you will be sad. And when you think about it you will be sad. And everyone who knows this film will know it to be the sad work that it is. I'm not going to tell you to watch it, but if you gain anything from this film, you will gain an understanding of how much you can cry in a 1 hour period. 

BASIC PLOT: 
Friendship is sparked between couple of youngters Leslie and Jesse when they both create their own magical imaginary world.

CASTING:

A film where you get to see your favourite actors in different crying poses!

- Josh Hutchinson (will make you cry)

- Anna Sophia Robb (really, really cry)

- Zoey Deschanel (just cry)

                      

SET:
Incredible views. Filmed in New Zealand. Stunning. Wow. Won’t make me forget that it’s a sad movie though.

FAVOURITE LINES:

LESLIE : [speaking about the Bible] You have to believe it, and you hate it. I don't have to believe it, and I think it's beautiful. 

LESLIE: You're lucky to have a sister.

JESSIE: Yeah, I got four of 'em, and I'd trade 'em all for a good dog.

OVERALL:
If you enjoy hysterically crying, pain, death, childhood sadness and overall lots of bad things then you'll love this one! I don't recommend this, I really don't, but you'll watch it anyway, or if you've already seen it and are looking for some closure, you will not find it here. I would recommend watching Carrie Diaries or something else with Anna Sophia Robb as she's older - Spoiler - and you can pretend that Leslie is alive and well. Which is she. Older and grown and moved onto another town. So happy for her. Yay
